DAY 13 - Prague, Munich

16.6.2019

On Sunday the 16th of June 2019, it was a nice 16-17 degrees Celsius with a humidity of 81%, barometric pressure of 1019, and a nice NNW wind of 14 km/h, and scattered clouds. So a pretty nice day to be in Prague but we had to go to Germany today, in Munich. The day started, we had a nice sleep in because we had a departure at 10:05. On the bus, everyone was still very tired from being on this tour for so long now and having to be trapped together for hours on a bus. The view though was very nice.

We did stop at KFC. Poor KFC. 80 exchange students lining up to get a KFC meal. There were a few travellers who stopped and waited at the end of the KFC line, such brave people.
Had the meal, then ran into the bus to travel and finally arrive in Munich. Everyone got off very quickly because we were hoping off onto the bike lane, so we had to be careful. But other than that, it was good to finally be in a hotel. Then it was free time to chill.

German children were on the street, and they were playing with tools to build a road or a pathway FOR FUN. Overall Good Day.

DAY 12 - Prague

15.6.2019

Me and Toscano woke up at 9 and went to the breakfast, after that I went with Mari, Toscano and Valentin, to the John Lennon Wall. It's pretty cool and we took pictures there. After we went to see the Castle of Prague, it was really warm day about 32 and we had to drink a lot water and get some 5 minutes rest because it was pretty high. After we took lunch in some Czech restaurant, really hard to remember the name of it! We also went to the Czech Eiffel tower, it's really hard to get up there and in my opinion the view is not worth it that much but if you don't have nothing to do ( what I think really difficult since have a lot of stuff to do here ) it's ok to go there. After I went with some friends to try the traditional ice cream from Prague. It's really good but if you aren't that hungry you can share it. After I meet up with some Brazilians and we saw Prague in the evening !!

To begin the day, Marie, Tanja, Greta, Lillian and I saw the museum of illusion. It was amazing and we were able to take many cool photos of the illusions. Next, we went to the clock tower within a church to see one of the best views of Prague. It was truly amazing. After this, we decided to walk around Prague and found lunch at a restaurant. After this, we went shopping and then to go use peddle boats and went around the river for about an hour. It was extremely beautiful and relaxing and we had a good time. After this, was the end of the day where we found dinner and then decided to walk around for a little bit. Soon after walking around, we found a tram to go back to the hotel.

DAY 10 - Vienna

13.6.2019

Our day started at 7:30, today was a free day, we got ready and put comfortable clothes, we had to do laundry so we had to search for a laundry, while searching for the laundry we took a metro, but we accidentally took the metro in the wrong direction, but because of the mistake we got to know a gorgeous lake with swans, afterwards we took the metro to the direction we had intended to go before, finally we found a laundry in the place we were before.

Once we finished we took a walk around the streets of Vienna where we found the parliament house and a garden full of different types of flowers. Afterwards we went to the natural museum of Vienna, also some friends called us so we could get together, and we ate fast so we didn’t waste any time.

We bumped into some emperors that were giving out free water, and we got together with another friend, we went to see the penacho de Moctezuma (Moctesuma’s plume), afterwards we went to the Euro Pride Vienna for a while, finally we went running to eat something and we went to the hotel to get some rest and to continue with our next adventure...

DAY 9 - Budapest, Vienna

12.6.2019

Today we made our way from Budapest to Vienna. We started with another early breakfast in the hotel, then battled the elevators to all get down to the lobby in time for the bus departure at 0800.

We had a couple hours of traffic on our way to the border and we stopped just short of Austria for lunch. From there we made it to the hotel a few minutes early and had some free time to stand outside and stretch our legs before starting the city tour.

The first stop we made was at the Hundertwasser house, designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. It was really cool to see something that is different in one of our stops, it broke the sort of constant kinds of architecture that we’ve been seeing so far on our trip. I think we all had just a bit of difficulty with the rolling floors and the wonky staircases.

After that we went to the Belverdere  palace where we took another big group picture (the Canada flag was highest) and we also got to see the Vienna skyline. I think we all really wanted to go swimming in the fountain because of how hot it’s been on this trip and especially today.

From there we made our way through Vienna seeing parks, palaces and embassies as well as the city’s architecture. We ended up at the Schönbrunn palace where we had the Imperial tour, where we got an audio device that led us through the palace seeing the apartments where the royal family lived. It was really cool to see because we had learned about the French Revolution in school and this was the palace where Marie Antoinette spent the early years of her life.

After the tour was finished we had to wait outside for the other groups to finish and for the busses to get there. With the sheer amount of people and tour groups there our busses didn’t actually have space to properly park on the side of the road in the bus lane, so they stopped in the lane for us to all run on, right in front of a police car. Luckily, he seemed to have other places to be and didn’t care that we were blocking a lane of traffic.

To end the night some of us went for a walk across the Reichsbrüke bridge over the Danube to see the sunset and go swimming.

DAY 8 - Budapest

11.6.2019

The day started with a sightseeing tour in the beautiful city of Budapest. We went to a sightseeing hill and took some pictures there. From the hill we were able to see the city's Pest-side which is flat while the Buda-side has a lot of hills. Then we went to visit the Mathhias Church on Castle Hill Budapest. Then we continued the tour by bus which was pretty good since the day was very hot and sunny.

After the tour we had free time for a couple hours. We went to eat some lunch and bought souvenirs. After that we relaxed for while before starting to get ready for the the night's Dinner Cruise on the river Danube. Everyone was wearing nice clothes and looked beautiful and handsome. The food was very good and we enjoyed ourselves while watching the beautiful views out of the windows. After eating everyone went outside to take pictures with their friends and dance to the music. The view was very beautiful since the Sun was setting and the buildings by river were illuminated.

Budapest has been very gorgeous and we'd love to come back here!

DAY 7 - Krakow, Budapest

10.6.2019

Today we had an early start in Krakow and we left at 7:30am. We took the bus in the direction of Budapest through Slovakia. The country side was beautiful and interesting. There were mountains, hills, fields, farms, and towns with pretty red roofs. We broke up our 9 hour bus ride to have lunch in a mall in Slovakia. After finally arriving in Budapest, we had free time to explore the beautiful city and eat dinner. A very long but interesting day!

DAY 6 - Warsaw, Krakow

9.6.2019

We had an early morning and breakfast in the hotel before a bus ride from Warsaw to Krakow (about 5 hours). We arrived and had a traditional lunch at a local restaurant/hotel. We then visited the Wieliczka salt mines in the area, which is one of the 12 objects on UNESCO's world cultural and natural heritage list. We toured for about 2 and half hours and it was really amazing to see 700 years of history. A favourite in the mines was the largest underground church in Europe, which had many sculptures made of salt as well as elaborate chandeliers and artwork from local students. Everyone was happy to catch the elevator back after walking steps down to 160m below the surface.

After a short bus ride hotel we had free time in the evening. Most of us chose to walk around the stunning old town (which features a large church tower and many birds in the square) and visit local restaurants for traditional cuisine (or pizza in some cases!).

The sunset was beautiful and the city is very unique. We all feel as though we could spend far longer in this beautiful city.
